The Hospitality
School of Biarritz is located in the south-western part of France, in the Basque
country, in the city centre of the world famous sea resort, just a five-minute
ride from the international Parme Airport.
Built in 1990, the Hospitality School is a boarding and day school welcoming
some 600 students supervised by some 90 teachers. It offers a wide range of
courses in both professional and technological paths. For futher details, please

The
former ranges from the CAP -French equivalent of NVQ (level 1) to the Baccalauréat
professionnel -French equivalent of A-levels- while the latter goes from the
Seconde Technologique -French equivalent of the 10th form- to the BTS Tourisme/Hôtellerie-Restauration/Responsable
d'Hébergement French equivalents of NVQ
(level 4)- in Tourism/ Hotelkeeping-Catering/ Hotel management.
As far as
its educational tools are concerned, the School has a 60-cover fine dining
restaurant open to the public (for lunch and dinner) suggesting a wide variety
of menus and also themed dinner parties as well as a School Hotel with a
capacity of 10 guestrooms including two three-star-rated suites (with provision
of breakfast). These two establishments are run by the students throughout the
school year and those in Advanced European vocational course in Hotel Management
are in charge of the School Hotel several times per year. The teacher team also
uses a virtual tool called « Roomy Hotel » which is being used in
class for educational purposes as well as for their second-year final exam.
To finish, the
Hospitality School is highly concerned with its international partnerships
namely with the E.U., U.S. and Mexico and as a result has decided to focus its
four-year school project (2006-10) on the matter with the officialization of its
BTS International (in partnership with Latin America) and more generally on the
development of its partnerships with the overseas hospitality industry.
